The public docket portal is best for checking court dates by county, division, date, courtroom, and subdivision. ePay is the payment and lookup route for eligible fines, fees, costs, cases, citations, and party searches.

For official records, certified copies, older files, and files that may be stored away from the courthouse, the request should go to the Martin County Circuit Court Clerk. Kentucky Court of Justice states that the Administrative Office of the Courts does not maintain trial court case records for public copying, and its court-record request instructions direct requesters to the clerk of the court that heard the case. If a record has been sent to the State Records Center, the clerk supplies case and file locator numbers. The State Records Center cannot search by name or Social Security number.

What Martin County Court Records Show

Online entries should be read as leads to the source file. When a copy must be used for court, licensing, identity, estate, or legal filing purposes, the Circuit Court Clerk or County Clerk should confirm whether a certified copy is required.

Martin County Court Access Laws

Kentucky public access law supports inspection of public records, but it does not make every Martin County court record open to every requester. Court files may be limited by juvenile confidentiality, adoption sealing, expungement, privacy rules, law-enforcement interests, or court order. The County Clerk records page says all public records, documents, and indices are available for viewing in the office free of charge. Online eCCLIX access requires an account and password assigned through the vendor, special software for images, and access fees. The County Clerk forms page also says forms must be mailed or brought in person because original signatures are required.

Martin County Jail Records

Martin County custody information does not come from a county jail page in Inez. The official regional jail source located for Martin County arrestees is Big Sandy Regional Detention Center in Paintsville. Its site points to a JailTracker public roster. The app shell is public, but the roster content is JavaScript-rendered, so a static sample inmate profile was not reliably captured in research.

State custody and supervision searches use Kentucky Online Offender Lookup, also called KOOL. VINELink is the notification path linked by Big Sandy for custody alerts, and it supports mobile app access. No official Martin County Sheriff app was found, so warrant and inmate lookups should not be framed as app-only sheriff tools. The Martin County Sheriff phone listed through Big Sandy resources is 606-298-2828; the regional jail phone is 606-297-5245.

Martin County Warrant Records

No official Martin County public active-warrant search, sheriff warrant list, most-wanted page, or public Kentucky eWarrants portal was located in official sources. That makes warrant access contact-based. A person checking a possible bench warrant should use the Circuit Court Clerk for court dates and case status, the Sheriff's Office for warrant contact, and Big Sandy for custody status after arrest.

Kentucky's eSearch Warrant rollout is a real statewide court technology initiative, but the research did not locate a public search interface for Martin County residents. Treat it as a judicial and law-enforcement workflow unless an official public portal is later published. Absence from an online list should not be treated as proof that no warrant exists.

Martin County Marriage Probate Records

Marriage licenses are issued by the County Clerk in Kentucky. For Martin County, both parties appear together, the license is valid for 30 days from issuance, and the license must be used in Kentucky. The Kentucky Office of Vital Statistics, or OVS, holds marriage and divorce certificates from June 1958 forward. Earlier marriage records go to the county clerk where the license was issued, and earlier divorce decrees go to the Circuit Court Clerk where the decree was granted.

Probate of wills is a District Court matter in Kentucky, while contested probate may move into Circuit Court jurisdiction. Martin County federal records are not searched through KYeCourts. Federal civil, criminal, prisoner, and civil-rights cases are in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Kentucky and are searched through federal systems such as PACER and CM/ECF. A recent venue change matters: effective December 31, 2025, new and pending federal district business for Martin County is transferred or filed at Ashland rather than Pikeville.

Martin County court users should route state trial court questions to the courthouse at 14 Court Street in Inez. The County Clerk is close by at 42 East Main Street, but that office handles a different record set. Payment rules also differ by need. The KCOJ Martin County page says cash, check, money order, credit cards, and debit cards are accepted for court payments, with a fee for card payments. Cash is required for bond and supervision fees.
